Welcome to Columbus Ohio, "the Arch City" and home of the Ohio State Buckeyes of Ohio State University, one of the largest universities in the country. For art galleries, fine dining and pubs, look no further than the Columbus area referred as Short North. For a visual feast of Victorian times, Columbus’ Victorian Village has many fine homes for view. German Village, on the National Register of Historic Places, is a wonderful place to feast on German fare. Several world-class buildings and museums are located in Columbus -- in addition to those located on the campus of Ohio State University, which is a museum unto itself . Among these are the Wexner Center, the Columbus Convention Center, the Ohio Statehouse, and the Columbus Museum of Art. The Columbus Metropolitan Library is one of the top in the nation and the Columbus Zoo is world-renowned. Several fairs, festivals and events attract visitors to Columbus each year. These include the annual Arnold Classic, the Ohio State Fair, ComFest, Oktoberfest, Festival Latino, and the Asian Festival -- to name just a few. Columbus Performing Arts venues include Nationwide Arena, Value City Arena, and Ohio Stadium, in addition to the historic Palace and Ohio Theatres. Soccer entertainment can be found with the Columbus Crew at the first soccer-specific stadium in the nation. |
